Getting started
How do I scan my cat?
Open Catology, tap the camera button, and take a photo of your cat. The first time, you'll be asked to allow AI analysis — once you agree, your photo is analyzed and the read is saved to that cat's timeline.
Can I add more than one cat?
Yes. Go to Profile → Manage cats → Add a cat. Each cat gets its own profile and journal.
Which languages are supported?
English and Simplified Chinese (简体中文), for both the interface and the AI reads. Change it in Profile → Appearance → Language.
Privacy & your data
What happens to my photos?
A photo is only sent when you tap to scan it. It's analyzed by Google Gemini, the original is dropped afterward, and we keep only the result and a small thumbnail. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
How do I withdraw AI consent or delete my photos?
Go to Profile → Privacy. There you can revoke AI-scan consent (you'll be asked again next time you scan) and delete all of your uploaded photos.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account, cats, scan history, and uploaded photos. If you subscribe, also cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Subscription & billing
How does the free trial work?
New subscriptions can start with a 3-day free trial. It converts to a paid plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
How do I manage, restore, or cancel?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new device, use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Troubleshooting
My scan failed or looks off.
Try a clear, well-lit photo where your cat's face and body are visible. The read is an automated best-guess and works better with a sharp image. If scans keep failing, email us.
